round table / monothematic issue of Critical Housing Analysis

We would like to invite you to participate in a round table debate on the issues related to the negotiation and development of urban space with particular emphasis put on the role of housing and/or nature, which will take place on 31 October 2016 in Prague, Czech Republic. The aim of the event titled Nature – home – housing: Negotiating urban space and its development is to provide space for the presentation of theoretical as well as empirical studies, exchange of ideas and experience and networking of scholars from Central and Eastern Europe and beyond.

An immediate outcome of the round table will be a special issue of Critical Housing Analysis, an online open access journal published by the organiser of the event, the Department of Socioeconomics of Housing, Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences.

The round table will consist of the presentation and discussion of individual papers / journal articles followed by a less formal topical discussion and an inquiry into potential avenues of cooperation.

Travel costs to the round table in Prague are covered by the Czech Academy of Sciences provided the presented paper/study is offered for publication in the journal (the number of participants is therefore limited).

The deadline for submitting an abstract (of 300 words) of the presented paper/journal article is 15 September 2016.

For more information about the thematic focus and important dates and deadlines, download the Call for papers (or see it below); for information about the journal, please visit its website.

We would highly appreciate it if you could spread the word about the event and forward the call to your colleagues who might be interested in the topic!
